Hi, I’m Bre. I’m a severe preeclampsia survivor and two-time NICU mama navigating motherhood after pregnancy and birth trauma. I decided to create mothermade as a way to share my reflections on motherhood, home, and what gets made in between. 🤎
I have found such joy in making creative spaces for our toddler. We have a play closet, a “morning shelf,” an art corner, and more. It’s amazing seeing her little creative mind come to life, and I love displaying her masterpieces. But anyone with kids knows that there are a lot of masterpieces. Like, many masterpieces per day.
So instead of hanging them on the fridge any longer, I was inspired to create another solution that showed off her beautiful works of art and worked with my home ✨aesthetic✨.
Enter: DIY kiddo art display!

What you need:
Cookie cooling racks—I didn’t want just any cooling racks, though. I wanted them to work with our other decor. I found these gold cooling racks at Target on sale and only paid $16 for 4.
Mini clothespins—perfect size for the wire grate. The set I got comes with 100 to cover all your toddler artwork display needs. 🎨
I decided to make a grid shape using four cooling racks to fill out the space and to display more works of art.
I absolutely love how it turned out and how it brings a little bit more color and character to that corner. What do you think?

What to expect from mothermade.
Motherhood is already a beautiful, messy, wild adventure. So when you add pregnancy and birth trauma on top of it, there’s a lot to process. My hope for mothermade is to talk openly and honestly about not just the beautiful parts of motherhood, but the messy ones, too. I’ll talk healing, health, hardships, home and navigating mothering and family planning after trauma.
